The perfect time to embrace spirituality and feel the power of devotion is on Ram Navami. This year, the festival is on Sunday, April 6, 2025. A time for joy, prayer, and reflection, Ram Navami marks the birth of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It’s a day that millions of people across India—and the world—look forward to with excitement, honoring the virtues and teachings of Lord Rama.

When Is Ram Navami Observed?

Ram Navami falls on the Navami Tithi (9th day) during the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in the Chaitra month. This is why the date changes slightly every year. In 2025, the celebrations will fall on April 6.

The festival’s timing depends on the Madhyahna Muhurat, which refers to the middle of the day. Lord Rama was born in Ayodhya during this time, so this is the most auspicious period for rituals and prayers.

  • Navami Tithi will begin on April 5, 2025, at 7:26 PM and end on April 6, 2025, at 7:22 PM.

  • Madhyahna Muhurat is from 11:08 AM to 1:39 PM on April 6.

Ram Navami Celebrations

In Lord Rama’s birthplace, Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), Ram Navami is nothing short of a grand celebration! Devotees start the day with a holy dip in the Sarayu river, followed by fasting until evening. The streets are filled with processions, where people carry beautifully decorated idols of Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, and Hanuman.

Temples and homes come alive with bhajans, recitations of the Ramayana, and puja ceremonies. Many places also organize dramatic performances of the Ramayana to relive the legendary battle between Lord Rama and the demon king Ravana.

One of the most significant aspects of the day is the chanting of Ram Navami mantras, like Shri Ram Aarti This sacred chant are believed to bring inner peace, boost spiritual growth, and remove negativity from your life. Shri Ram Aarti is said to open doors for divine blessings and promote harmony and success. It also cultivates purity of mind, dispels negative energies, and attracts peace and harmony.
